So it turns out that the
CyberDERM staffers represent a great spectrum of ages- from the late teens to the forties, we are well represented (for all of you ladies looking for 50+, check out next month's blog). We thought we’d put these questions to them, see what matters the most and how that may change as we get older. Turns out-you would be surprised by how much we have in common.
The Teen
Years
Karina C.: Best Summer Intern Ever
All I want to do by the end
of the year is: Learn how to dougie.
I would consider it the
perfect weekend when I can: Escape from the real world by getting lost in
playing music.
To me, luxury is: Having a
Steinway grand piano, surrounded by various guitars and many other instruments
from around the world.
The one beauty splurge I will
not go without: Mascara.
The best beauty advice my
mother ever gave me: Less is more.
I love this about myself: I
do many things with kaizen. [Editor’s Note: We don’t know what kaizen is either
but we’re sure it’s great].
The Twenties
Lorena- Customer Service and Ops Associate
All I want to do by the end
of the year is: Learn how to change the
oil in my car on my own and renovate my unfinished basement.
I would consider it the
perfect weekend when I can:
Sleeping in past 9AM, working
out for about an hour and a half, eating, and spending time with my family.
To me, luxury is: Driving a
nice car and effortlessly pampering yourself with the finer things in life
The best beauty advice my
mother ever gave me: Was to run my brush through my hair 100 times every night
before going to bed.
I love this about myself:I am
very resourceful. I can fix just about anything with a safety pin!
The Just Thirties
Sara- Executive Director
All I want to do by the end
of the year is: Get into our new house and make it cozy feel like a home. I get
to have a tree! I had forsaken the idea of having space or nature near us so a
tree is magical!
I would consider it the
perfect weekend when I can: Sleep in and make pancakes
To me, luxury is: It’s little
small, simple things- a glass of good Prosecco, an amazing smelling soy candle,
a good homemade marinara sauce.
The one beauty splurge I will
not go with out: my big packs of Joico K-Pak shampoo and conditioner. I’m not
skimping on my hair. Mind you- if I didn’t
get my sunscreen for free, that would be my essential buy every month.
The best beauty advice my
mother ever gave me: she taught me a trick to lean over and re-position
yourself in your bra so that the ‘girls’ sit better, especially in dresses.
I love this about myself: My
willingness to pick myself up and try again.
The 35+
Karina: Customer Insight Specialist
All I want to do by the end of the year is: Get myself
back to the gym, and maybe for once learn to enjoy this thing called “winter”
here in Canada. Lol, and visit family
and friends in Cali.
I would consider it the
perfect weekend when I can: spend it
with my two best friends shopping, sushi and sake for lunch then a night out in
LA at our favorite spot!
To me, luxury is: indulging
in my favorite things, i.e a nice bottle of red wine, getting pampered in a
spa, caviar and a good Russian vodka! Love it!
Dinners out, travelling around the world to exotic places, shopping sprees!
Not having to clean! Getting manis, pedis and hair blown out weekly!
The one beauty splurge I will
not go with out: Botox! Plus a good skin care line and a good pair
of designer heels!
The best beauty advice my
mother ever gave me: She didn’t ever give me any but I’ve travelled the world
and I learned from that. I love using
different oils for the face and body.
I love this about myself: I
choose to always happy no matter what the situation or circumstance is and no
person has ever come to me sad and not left happy I love making people smile…
Age 40+
Mary Kay- Director of Operations
All I want to do by the end of the year is:
Find a better balance between
work and home life. More to time to go to the gym and spend quality time with
family and friends.
I would consider it the
perfect weekend when I can: Sleep in, work out and spending time with the family
other than running to a hockey arena.
To me, luxury is: Spa day: massage, mani/pedi, hair, makeup. Also,
sitting on a beach just listening to the ocean.
The one beauty splurge I will
not go with out: I recently started using serums and I really love them!
The best beauty advice my
mother ever gave me: My mom is definitely a low maintenance woman – I don’t
think I ever got any beauty advice from her.
I love this about myself: It’s
hard for me to say that I love this about myself but something that I am proud
of is my loyalty and integrity. These
two traits are very important to me.
